We’ve included little slots for zip ties to make that even easier for you guys you can attach it to the factory wiring wherever you want just make sure it’s not dangling and banging around down.

How to Fix FR-X Projector in 2013+ Ram

I want to do a quick introduction of the FX R, it is swapped for the 2013 Plus Rams, but mine is the 2016 Ram, I am going to retrofit it in my Ram. It provides a bracket for the projector itself, the weird thing about this bracket is that the bolts. they are in a different housing, there are two on one side, but the two screws or the four screws will hold the bracket on. So I need to make sure everything was even was I put in washers.

I put in two washers on each side, in order to make the brackets even, so the bottom part was sucking and the top part still had the gap. So I tossed some washers to fix that problem. I cut in a little groove in the bottom of the hole headlight assembly. That allows for the screw on the solenoid to fit in. So that is the only modification that the assemble the bracket put it onto the projector.

I tossed the washers in to make sure everything is nice and even, and that the projector can slides in and lines up, now it can slides everything. On the back, I use another washer to hold a projector. It is hard to get it, but you can screw in from the back. If you use the washers instead of screwing all the way and you’re just screwing till you hit the housing. It held it in nice and firm that didn’t wiggle it.

The hardest part of was getting the headlight assembly apart. If I have to give any advice, I would say use a lot of heat. I used about 260 degrees and I probably baked it for about an hour and a half or so about 20 minutes. I take the little screwdriver went around the edges. It slowly starts giving and I am going to put back together. Now I finish it, that I can install in my Ram.

It is necessary in this installation to remove the headlights from the truck, remove both the grill and the shroud by loosening up the rivets. Once removed go ahead and set this to the side with the shroud out, we’ll need to remove the four ten millimeter bolts that hold the grille in place with the bolts removed, you need to pull the grille straight out. Pull them straight forward to loosen those and then grab the grille and pull it straight on out.

With the grille out, you’ll have access to the two ten millimeter bolts that hold the headlight in place go ahead and loosen remove those and remove the bolts of the headlight.

Once you’re done with the headlight assembly, you put it back on the truck. You have the headlight disconnected from the truck, you’ll have access to the low beam and high beam bulbs. Remove the bulb by twisting and pulling out the turn signal bulb and then disconnecting the main headlight connector.

Now that we have the headlight out of the truck, twist the dust cap and remove the stock bulbs. Put the new led bulb into the high beam and low beam, take your anti flicker module to connect it to the signal wire and feed it back behind the housing, make sure the wiring connections with the right one. Line up the tabs and twist to lock into place, you can return the dust cap to seal that portion of the headlight back up.

Now that we have our bulbs installed, we will go ahead and reconnect it to the truck and test to make sure everything’s up and running. Once you’ve done, you can actually return this back and lock it back into place repeat the process on the other headlight, return your grill in your shroud to complete your installation.

Open up your hood on each side of the engine, there are four coils you can see the front one here and then they go back.

Use a short socket and a wrench but disconnect the little tab on the back side, push them kind of toward the coil, a little bit push the tab and disconnect. Use 10-millimeter socket and ratchet to remove the bolts that hold the coils as the boats actually have little retainers on them. Once you get it loose just move it around a little bit and pull them up at all.

Access the plugs on the passenger side, remove the intake hose and the top of the airbox, unclip them and loosen this clamp. The flat blade screwdriver and pull this hose off and then bring your intake box up and off it gives you access.

On this side you may want to have extensions and push the connector towards the coil. Press the tab and release with the coil out, you can see the plugs are right down inside five-eighths sparkplug socket very important, you have a spark plug socket for this application. You need various extensions to get down.

This is the reason you want the spark plug socket so that the plug will come up and out with it. You want to check the gap and gap tool should slide in and out, actually, it’s a little bit big. So take the gap tool carefully end it down just a hair hook it in and out.

Spark plug socket the best because you put it in and then they don’t fall out, and put your plug down and inturn it by hand first make sure it gets.

Get started and torque these to 13 foot-pounds you want to use some dielectric or silicon base grease, and just put a little bit right inside the tube that fits over the spark plug. Put the oil down in you want to push down, firmly and start the bolts probably with your hand. Once it’s tight let me connect your lead, put your airbox lid back in, check this hose push it over, get it walk-in right put the tabs up and on and tighten up this clamp.
